Tony Orlando to Perform
Tony Orlando, one of America’s most endearing and enduring stars, will appear at Eisenhower Park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre, near parking fields 6 and 6A, East Meadow, at 7:30 p.m. Orlando recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his hit recording, Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree. The concert is free. Besides the iconic Tie a Yellow Ribbon, Orlando will perform other No. 1 hits such as Knock Three Times, Sweet Gypsy Rose and Candida. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons and assistive hearing devices are available for the hearing impaired. There is no formal seating so concert-goers are urged to bring folding chairs. If weather conditions are doubtful, call 572-0355 after 7 p.m. for updated performance information.

Think Pink Think Green Breast Cancer Walk of Hope at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. Check-In time is 8:30-9:30 a.m.; walk begins at 10 a.m. Meet at field 6 & 6A. The Wantagh Preservation Society is holding an “Autumn Yard Sale”on Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ( rain date Sept. 26) at 1700 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, on the beautiful museum grounds. The rental fee for a 10’ wide space is $35 which would include leaving your car on museum grounds. You provide your own table. You may sell new and used items, crafts and collectables. Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of East Meadow is seeking vendors for its Faith, Food & Fellowship Festival. The festival will be held outdoors, rain or shine, on Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seeking vendors for crafts, toys and children’s items, fashion/clothing, green products, costume jewelry, sports merchandise, and services/demonstrations such as massage therapy and financial services. Price points should be affordable and not high-end. The fee will be $60 for a 10’ x 10’ space and $100 for a 10’ x 20‘ space. Vendors must bring their own tables and/or tents. Cub Scout Round Up
Parents of boys in first – fifth grades who are interested in joining the Cub Scouts at Temple B’nai Torah, Wantagh, should contact Jeff Cohen at 205-1589. The Cub Scouts are sponsored by the Brotherhood of Temple B’nai Torah, a reform congregation. “We do lots of projects and games, go on trips, do community service and go on great overnights, “said Jeff Cohen. Meetings are on Thursdays in the Youth Lounge from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. starting in September. Troop 189 has been awarded BSA Quality Unit Status many times, the BSA Centennial Quality Unit Award Status more than once as well as the Nassau County Gus Katz Award for Service to God and Country in 2008. Levittown’s Brass and Percussion
A nonprofit organization that will teach kids, ages 8 to 88, to play an instrument and have fun parading, performing, competing and many social events. Free of charge. Exhibit of Early Levittown Memorabilia
In celebration of 50 years of Levittown, the Levittown Historical Society presents the exhibit “Levittown, the American Dream 1947-1957.” Filled with early Levittown memorabilia, it is a “walk down Memory Lane.” Includes: WWII Levitt House, appliances, photographs, furniture, wedding gifts, toys and memories. Senior Puppet Theater
