LI/NYC Metro Area Young Widowers

Is holding a Lunch and Chocolate Tasting Event at Empress Diner, 2490 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, from 1 to 4 p.m. Chase away the pre-Valentine’s blues by sampling special, delicious chocolates that are good for you, while mingling with other young widows and widowers. This group is for widows and widowers who are past their initial grieving period who are mostly younger than 60. All ages are welcome.

February Pool Party Benefit

Pool sharks get ready! Cue Nine, 2963 Hempstead Tpke., Levittown, will come alive from 7 to 11 p.m. for a February Pool Party. Admission is $50 and includes four hours of free billiards, live DJ, free beer, wine and soda, free appetizers and free dinner including choices up to four entrées served buffet style. The evening includes exhibitions by Vegas National Team Tournament winners, an exhibition and meet and greet with world-renowned player and instructor Tony Robles and a exhibition by world trick shot champion Andy Segal. The night will be capped off by a silent auction including Triple Crown sports memorabilia and a raffle for an Olhausen billiards table. Raffle, silent auction proceeds and a portion of Triple Crown sports memorabilia will benefit Little Shelter Animal Rescue. Raffle tickets are $50 and can be purchased in advance or at the event. Come enjoy our festive Mardi Gras Gift Basket Auction at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3434 Hempstead Tpke., at 7:30 p.m. There will be over 100 gift baskets or gift certificates to be won. There’s a special children’s section as well. There’s something for everyone. There will be music, refreshments, a festive atmosphere and lots and lots of prizes to win. Westbury Friends School Events

•Feb. 15, March 15: New “Art, Toddler Style” series at 10 a.m. in the campus Art Studio. Explore art materials that engage the senses and inspire wonder and creativity. At this age, the emphasis is on process, exploration and discovery.

•March 9: “Toddler Story Time” series continues at 10 a.m. in the campus library. Listen to stories, sing songs and learn finger plays.

Stroke Support Groups

Stroke Life Society is a community organization of survivors and co-survivors in the pursuit of living and helping others. A stroke can be very isolating. Vendors Wanted

Holy Trinity High School’s Spring Craft Fair will host over 100 vendors selling their spring crafts/flowers, plus food, refreshments, bake sale, raffles/Chinese auction. •Bingo For Kids/Families. On Tuesday evenings you can fun with your family at a special bingo designed just for kids. At Temple Beth-El of Bellmore, 1373 Bellmore Rd., N. Bellmore, play bingo for prizes (not cash). Doors open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per player. An adult must accompany the children. Adult play is optional. •Pet Loss Support Group for people who feel very sad about the loss or serious illness of their cat or dog. Levittown’s Brass and Percussion

A nonprofit organization that will teach kids, ages 8 to 88, to play an instrument and have fun parading, performing, competing and many social events. Free of charge. Beginners or experienced musicians welcome. Free transportation and instruments if needed. Levittown Career and Technical Center at Abbey Ln. is offering the public salon services performed by students on Thursdays and Fridays from 11:45 a.m., to 2 p.m. Pricing for a haircut, shampoo and style, and manicure is $3. •Introduction to Jewish Prayer on Mondays at 8:15 p.m. Text: To Pray as a Jew by Rabbi Haim Donnin. Instructor Rabbi Alan Lavin. The course is designed for those who would like to learn the history, meaning and structure of the siddur.

Exhibit of Early Levittown Memorabilia

In celebration of 50 years of Levittown, the Levittown Historical Society presents the exhibit “Levittown, the American Dream 1947-1957.” Filled with early Levittown memorabilia, it is a “walk down Memory Lane.” Includes: WWII Levitt House, appliances, photographs, furniture, wedding gifts, toys and memories.
