LICIL’s Zumba Class
The LI Center for Independent Living is presenting a series of workshops for its LICIL and CDPAP members and consumers. Harvest Dinner
Come one, come all. Thanksgiving comes early to Wantagh. The Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church, 1845 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, will be hosting its famous Harvest Dinner – turkey with all the trimmings, lots of desserts, too, at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required. Cost is $13 per adult; $9 per child; children under 5 years old are free. The dinner will be held in the Parish Hall (the white building next to the church). Country Fair
Purchase inexpensive but quality homemade gifts for the holiday season. Something for all. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Church of St. Jude, 3606 Lufberry Ave,. Wantagh. There will be hand-crafted quilted items, Christmas and holiday decorations, crafts of all kinds, used books, DVDs, CDs, toys, white elephants. Refreshments will be available throughout the day including a a full grill on Saturday and traditional baked goods, gourmet food, Vermont cheese and homemade pickles. At Veterans Plaza, Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, parking field #6. Assembly of Color Guards will be held at 10 a.m. Parade and Color Guards will step off from field #6 at 10:30 a.m. sharp. United Veterans of NC invites all active duty military, veterans, veteran’s organizations and their families and friends, Boy and Girl Scouts, fire departments, civic and community organizations to parade and participate in the service. See the Birds in Massapequa Preserve

Religion in the Public Schools
The League of Women Voters will sponsor “Religion in the Public Schools…a Survey of the Legal History” at the Levittown Library at 7:30 p.m. Professor Thomas Schweitzer of the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College will discuss a number of important cases that bear on the way religion and the public schools relate to the Constitution. One of these cases is Aguilar v. Felton (1985) that said that NYC’s program using federal funds to pay the salaries of public employees who provided remedial education in parochial schools violated the First Amendment. Then in 1995 this case was overruled. All are welcome to this timely meeting.

Laugh Your Cares Away Benefit
The Gardiners Avenue Elementary School Community Service Committee is helping the Levittown community to laugh their cares away. They are holding a benefit at Governors Comedy Club. Tickets are $15. The festivities start at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit individuals and families in need in the Levittown community. Levittown Historical Society and Museum
The organization collects, preserves and educates history of Levittown. Holds seven yearly general meetings in the Community Room of the Levittown Library and maintains the museum located in the Levittown Memorial Education Center, Room 10, 150 Abbey Ln., Levittown. The museum contains history of Levittown, WWII memorabilia, artifacts from the Levitt houses, toys, furniture, clothing of the ‘40s and ‘50s, replicas of the Levitt kitchen and the Levitt ranch living room.
