Annual Easter Car Parade Event steps off on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The 57th annual Easter Sunday Vintage Car Parade will step off this Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m. from 10th Street on Franklin Avenue. The procession, led by a line of spectacular antique and classic cars, the Kiwanis Easter Bunnies and Kingsley Bear, will head south on Franklin Avenue, then west on Seventh Street where it will disperse at Hilton Avenue.
Spectators are invited to view the cars as they line up in the parking field 9E between Ninth and Tenth Streets from 10 a.m. until parade step-off time at 1 p.m. Adding to the fun will be the Town of Hempstead’s showmobile, musical and emcee Jim Rheel, along with entertainment by his renowned Banjo Rascal. Both the Easter Bunnies and the Banjo Rascals will return to Seventh Street with their toe-tappin’ tunes in front of Bagelman, and the bunnies will hand out lollipops to the little ones.
The chamber acknowledges with thanks its sponsor, AAA New York for provision of dash plaque souvenirs for vintage car owners who hail from throughout the metropolitan area and beyond; also to Hengstenberg’s and Feldis Florist who decorate the Easter Trees, assisted by the village parks department.
