At its annual Lazy Days of Summer Family event each year, the Levittown Community Council holds a basketball competition for kids and adults.
Around The World is a basketball shooting game or drill in which a series of shots must be made in order to move around a circuit and advance to the next position. In a variation for the Lazy Days event, players had two chances to make a shot at each position in order to advance to the next position. The player(s) that advanced furthest around the circuit was the winner.
Players competed in three age categories: 6 to 9 years old; 10 to 15 year old and adult. In the first category, Phillip Trafficanda (9), Samuel Feiner and Michael Cassano (both 8) were the winners each completing the circuit.
In the teen category, Ian Silverstein (10), Richie Trafficanda and Chris Karrmann (both 13) were winners.
In the adult category, Rich Trafficanda and Carisa Nenchina scored best. Winners received prizes donated by Levittown Lanes and Levittown VFW/Elks.
Despite temperatures in the 90s, the competition was strong resulting in one of the best turnouts for this event in its history.
The 16th Annual Lazy Days of Summer event was chaired by Mauro and Louise Cassano.
