The Island Trees JV baseball team has finished off the season with a sweep against Mineola. After losing the first game of each of the first two series, the Bulldogs came back to win both of those series versus Valley Stream North and Locust Valley. After dropping two out of three to Clarke in the third week, the boys opened up the series against Cold Spring Harbor with a win and went on to sweep them as well. The boys finished 11-6 overall.
Some offensive standouts were Anthony Giambona, who is hit .414 with an OBP of .528. Matt Antonelli hit .370 with an impressive 20 runs scored and John Jeanetti hit .327 and lead the team with 21 rbi.
On the hill, Kyle Herguth led the staff with 5 wins and an ERA 1.18. Antonelli, Frank Nacovsky, and Vin Palazzo also recorded wins for the pitching staff this year. Defensively, Joe Buda has solidified the middle of the infield with strong play at shortstop. It was good season for
the boys.
