The generous spirit of the Levittown community rang true as hundreds of items were collected for families in need during the Levittown School District’s sixth annual Adopt-A-Family program.
Under the direction of Gina Interdonato and Esta Lachow, 202 individuals will experience the season of giving, evidenced by the collection of toys, clothes and household items that packed the Board of Education meeting room at Levittown Memorial Education Center.
On Dec. 16, Board of Education trustees, administrators, staff, students and community members gathered to wrap the gifts prior to distribution.
“Because of the economy, so many families and individuals were in need of our services this year,” Lachow said. “We really had an outpouring of gifts, and they keep coming.”
