Church Anniversary
The First Presbyterian Church of Levittown is celebrating their 65th anniversary on Sunday Feb. 22 from 1-5 p.m. with a pasta dinner with all of the trimmings. There will also be live entertainment from “Still in Style,” a five man singing group. Cost is $10 per person for dinner and live entertainment. Stress Management Workshop
The Levittown Community Council and The Employee Awareness Association will be hosting “A Health Awareness Workshop” on Feb. 23. Dr. Matt Lewis, developer of the ONE weight loss program will be giving an informative presentation on stress management. Dr. Lewis has over four years in post graduate education in functional medicine and over a decade of experience in clinical nutrition. The presentation will last about twenty-five minutes and will be followed by a Q & A session. A healthy snack will be provided. A History of High Hill Beach
The Wantagh Preservation Society presents “High Hill Beach” with local historian speaker Joshua Soren. Before Jones Beach there was High Hill Beach, a resort community of bungalows and cottages. Last Hope Animal Rescue’s LOL Comedy Night
Chase away the winter blues by coming to Last Hope Animal Rescue’s LOL Comedy Night at Governor’s at 90 Division Ave., Levittown on Thursday, Feb. 26. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds will be donated to Last Hope to benefit the dog and cat adoption programs plus community outreach, such as the “Fix-A- Feral” voucher program. There is a two drink minimum. Governor’s offers a full menu so come early and have dinner. There will be a selection of raffle baskets and a 50/50. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for an 8 p.m. show and seating is on a first come, first serve basis.
