On Sept. 22, the Massapequa Lions hosted a fall fundraiser for the Smithtown Guide Dog Foundation at Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown. As always, the Lions turned out people in droves raising nearly $3,000 for the foundation and the Lions.

Not only did several comedians perform for the event that evening, but the headliner was none other than Chris Roach, actor and comedian featured on the new sitcom Kevin Can Wait.

“Seeing everyone come out and show their support illustrates the very definition of what community involvement means,” said Michael LiPetri, a Massapequa Lion who organized the event. “Aiding the blind and the visually impaired is at the forefront of support as Lions. It is great knowing that the money generated will help those in need live better lives.”
